STEP 1 - ULAANBAATAR, CITY TOUR : Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia (called UB). You will be met by your guide and driver and transferred to Dream hotel, a 2 star establishment that’s conveniently located in downtown UB within walking distance from major attractions in the city. Depending on your arrival time, your guide will accompany you around this ‘soviet-esque’ city that offers some rich cultural attractions and museums. You will first head for Gandantegchinlen, a Tibetan-style monastery with 150 monks in residence. This is one of the very few monasteries which escaped the massive destruction during the communist period in the 1930s. The monks in residence usually pray in the morning, a ceremony open to visitors. The Buddhist Centre will be also ready to answer any of your questions. You will then visit a cashmere factory, one of Mongolia’s best known exports. This will be followed by lunch in a local restaurant to work your taste buds on Mongolian cuisine. In the afternoon, you will visit the National History Museum where three floors Mongolia’s rich and glorious past await you - from pre-historical ages to the soviet era without forgetting the glories of Genghis Khan’s period of reign. You will then head for our office to collect details of your trip: the itinerary, advice and to address any doubts or questions. At 6 pm, the Tumen Ekh traditional show will provide an exposé on traditional Mongolian folk arts including folklore dances, contortionism and Khoomi - the famous overtone singing style. STEP 2 - ULAANBAATAR - BAGA GAZRIIN CHULUU : The first day we discover the mountain of Baga Gazriin Chuluu where we observe impressive rock formations of granite. BREAKFAST IN HOTEL, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT JEEP : 7 HOURS

STEP 4 - TSAGAAN SUVARGA - ICED CANYON OF YOLIIN AM : Going towards the East this time, today’s adventure involves a hike in Yoliin Am (Eagles Canyon), a mountain valley that conceals the natural wonder of a large ice field that remains frozen most of the year. STEP 5 - ICED CANYON OF YOLIIN AM - SAND DUNES OF KHONGOR : This morning you go for a hike in the canyon of Yoliin Am, you discover the astounding gorge on foot. The gorge is so deep that sunrays are unable to melt the ice field before August, after which temperatures quickly drop with the coming of autumn, leaving much of the ice field frozen all year round. Yoliin Am or Eagles Canyon is also a favourable place to spot and observe wildlife such as mouflon, wild sheep or argali, snow leopards and black-tailed antelopes. A its name suggests, you will also find eagles, hawks and vultures. . Then we go to west of the national park to reach the dunes of Khongor. STEP 6 - SAND DUNES OF KHONGOR, CAMEL RIDING : A camel ride in the Gobi is an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, you ride to a Saxaul forest on camel back. Saxaul is a plant with very tiny leaves and ranges in size from a large shrub to a small tree. Saxaul barks may be pressed for drinking water. In the Gobi desert, it is often the only kind of wood that nomads can use for heating and cooking. This plant is also a camel’s favorite meal. The Gobi is also home to diverse wildlife species. If lucky you can spot Ibex, Argalis, wild Mouflon and Antelopes. On foot, you will trudge up to the summit of the dunes to admire the astounding vista of desert land, and on a good day, catch the chant of the singing dunes. STEP 7 - SAND DUNES OF KHONGOR - IKH BOGD : In the day we leave gradually the sand dunes to the desert of rocks. We cross a mountain of black sand in the desert. We spend the night near the Ikh Bogd mountain. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT JEEP : 6 HOURS

STEP 8 - IKH BOGD - CANYON OF GIGET : We go to the village of Chandmani. Here, families build small stone houses near their gers for stocking food. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT JEEP : 6 TO 7 HOURS

STEP 9 - CANYON OF GIGET - EEK KHAIRKHAN : During that day you will have a short hike into the canyon of Giget (canyon of light) and meet a family before going towards Eej Khairkhan. Eej Khairkhan means the mother mountain. Indeed, by far the mountain seems to wear a deel (traditional clothe). STEP 10 - EEJ KHAIRKHAN, HIKING : Today we hike on Eej Khaikhan. This mountain seems to be divided in two by the rocks forming a fountain of pots. When one of the holes (pot) is filled it forms a small waterfall to the next stop ... Free time and rest. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HIKE : 3 TO 4 HOURS

STEP 11 - EEJ KHAIRKHAN - ALAG KHAIRKHAN : First day : Today we go to Kharkhan Natural Reserve, which protects rare animals like the snow leopard and ibex. On the road you discover some gazelles. Second day : Hike to the top of the mountain for the most courageous. At the top you will find a little ovoo and magnificent views of the park. STEP 12 - ALAG KHAIRKHAN - NATURAL PARK OF THE WILD HORSES OF PRZEWALSKI : Discover a natural park that protects horses of Prewalski. On the road to the park you will see many eagles. With a guide you go by car to observe the horses of Prewzalski. It is also an opportunity to discover the local wildlife. STEP 13 - NATURAL PARK OF THE WILD HORSES OF PRZEWALSKI - CANYON OF BODONCH : Today you are driven to Bodonch. After a few kms driving in the canyon we will enjoy a beautiful hike along the river. Some yaks and nomadic families live in the area. BREAKFAST IN CAMP, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT JEEP : 5 HOURS HIKE : 1 TO 2 HOURS

STEP 14 - CANYON OF BODONCH - MANKHAN : After a few hours drive we stop at the village of Mankhan. A village located in the middle of nowhere. Then departure to Mankhan caves where we spend the night in a camp. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN A GERS CAMP JEEP : 7 HOURS

STEP 15 - MANKHAN - KHAR NUUR US LAKE : On morning we visit the caves of Mankhan where you can discover many petroglyphs. Then departure for the beautiful lake Khar Nuur. Hiking and rest in the afternoon. BREAKFAST IN CAMP, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT JEEP : 2 HOURS

STEP 16 - KHAR NUUR US LAKE - KHOVD : This morning we go towards Khovd, visit of the monastery and museum. After the discovery of the village we settle our camp on the banks of a river towards the mountains Tsambagarav. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT JEEP : 3 HOURS

STEP 18 - TSAMBAGARAV MOUNTS - OLGII OR KHOVD : The flights between Ulaanbaatar and Olgii are not daily scheduled, We can either go to Olgii or to Khovd. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN A GERS CAMP

STEP 19 - BACK TO ULAANBAATAR : Back to Ulaanbaatar in the morning. Visit of Choijin Lama monastery and museum and shopping. BREAKFAST IN CAMP, LUNCH AND DINNER NOT INCLUDED, AND OVERNIGHT IN A HOTEL

STEP 20 - DEPARTURE : Breakfast at the hotel. We accompany you back to the international airport of Ulaanbaatar. Return transfer can take place at the desired time, depending on your flight time.
