STEP 1 - ULAANBAATAR, CITY TOUR : Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia (called UB). You will be met by your guide and driver and transferred to Dream hotel, a 2 star establishment that’s conveniently located in downtown UB within walking distance from major attractions in the city. Depending on your arrival time, your guide will accompany you around this ‘soviet-esque’ city that offers some rich cultural attractions and museums. You will first head for Gandantegchinlen, a Tibetan-style monastery with 150 monks in residence. This is one of the very few monasteries which escaped the massive destruction during the communist period in the 1930s. The monks in residence usually pray in the morning, a ceremony open to visitors. The Buddhist Centre will be also ready to answer any of your questions. You will then visit a cashmere factory, one of Mongolia’s best known exports. This will be followed by lunch in a local restaurant to work your taste buds on Mongolian cuisine. In the afternoon, you will visit the National History Museum where three floors Mongolia’s rich and glorious past await you - from pre-historical ages to the soviet era without forgetting the glories of Genghis Khan’s period of reign. You will then head for our office to collect details of your trip: the itinerary, advice and to address any doubts or questions. At 6 pm, the Tumen Ekh traditional show will provide an exposé on traditional Mongolian folk arts including folklore dances, contortionism and Khoomi - the famous overtone singing style. PICK UP AT THE AIPORT LUNCH IN A RESTAURANT, DINNER NOT INCLUDED, OVERNIGHT IN AN HOTEL.

STEP 2 - ULAANBAATAR - KHUVSGUL LAKE : Flight for the Khuvsgul province and its capital, Moron. 1h15 flight for a total change of landscapes. Around 3 hours driving to reach the small village of Khatgal located at south of Lake Khuvsgul, one of the natural wonders of the world. Imagine 2760 square meters of pristine crystal waters so pure you can drink it – this is Khuvsgul lake. As a transition zone between Central Asian Steppe and Siberian Taiga, the lake is surrounded by several mountain ranges with peaks above 2000 meters. The surrounding pine forests and lush pastures are home to yaks, horses and wildlife such as ibex, wolf, and musk deer. We leave Hatgal for Alagsar ger camp on the east shore of the lake. STEP 3 - ALAG SAR - KHATGAL : After breakfast we discover our horses and finally start riding. We ride along the south bank of the lake. If you want, we can to do our first gallop in the steppe. We ride between forests and lakes. In the evening we set up our camp near Khatgal, a small village. BREAKFAST IN CAMP, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HORSE RIDING : 5 HOURS

STEP 4 - KHATGAL - JANKHAY : After our first night in a tent, we go towards Jankhay. During the morning, we ride among the tall grass and colorful flowers, before entering the forest of larch. We then descend towards the lake, which one we can see through the trees. We settle our camp near the lake. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HORSE RIDING : 7 HOURS

STEP 5 - JANKHAY - KHELT : Today, we enter into a marshy area. This day will be punctuated by gallop and trot through the forest. We discover our first Ovoo, heaps of stone and wood that Mongolian stand on mountain peaks in honor of the spirit of the mountains. We turn three times around on horseback. In the evening we arrive at Khelt and set up our camp near the lake. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HORSE RIDING : 6 HOURS

STEP 6 - KHELT - JIGLEG AM : In the morning we leave this area. We stop for lunch besides the waterfalls near the lake. The waterfalls are known for their healty properties, and drink itheir water would be beneficial for your eyes, your stomach, your kidneys ... Finally, we go turning around the Ovoo. We reach Jigleg at the end of the afternoon and settle our camp for the night. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HORSE RIDING : 6 HOURS

STEP 7 - JIGLEG AM - EULT : Easy day in the forest and plain, during which we will have many opportunities to to go faster in beautiful landscapes . In the evening we set up our camp at Eult. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HORSE RIDING : 6 HOURS

STEP 8 - EULT - RENCHINLKHUMBE : The day begins with a passage in the forest where we may be lucky enough to meet the herd of white horses living there. We go through the village of renchinlkhumbe where we stop for a rest with a family. Outside the village, we will see a snowfield. After resting, we go towards a plain where we set up our camp. STEP 9 - RENCHINLKHUMBE - KHORIDOL : We start the most difficult day of the journey. We ride through a forest of larch where flies are sometimes numerous. We stop along the river where the bravest can swim. We return then to a marshy area where we move slowly. Award of the day: a sunset on the banks of the river Arsain, surrounded by high mountains. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HORSE RIDING : 7 HOURS

STEP 10 - KHORIDOL - EUVEUR KHORIDOL : Some difficult moments when we have to cross the dry riverbeds and move among the rock. Then we find a hillier region surrounded by high peaks, where the gallops will be possible. We set up our camp on the Mountain Euveur Khoridol, next to a forest where wolves can sometimes be heard. WESTERN BREAKFAST, LUNCH ON THE WAY, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT IN TENT HORSE RIDING : 6 HOURS

STEP 11 - EUVEUR KHORIDOL - EULKHEUN : Last day of ride in the mountains. The afternoon will take place in a landscape of steppe where we will have the opportunity to make beautiful and long gallops in the vast Mongolian steppe. STEP 12 - EULKHEUN - KHATGAL - ALAG SAR : Our journey ends and we arrive to the shores of Lake Khuvsgul. Last moments in the woods before returning to Khatgal where we will have our lunch with a local family. We return to the region of Alag Sar and to our camp in the afternoon. STEP 13 - DAY OF RESTE IN THE CAMP : Rest day on the shores of Lake Khuvsgul, in our camp. We can listen long stories about Mongolia and Chinggis Khan told by the chief of the camp, participate in a contest of archery with fherders who have accompanied us during this great adventure. 3 MEALS TAKEN IN THE GER CAMP

STEP 14 - KHUVSGUL - ULAANBAATAR : You will be driven back to Moron to catch your flight to Ulaanbaatar. This road takes you through a wonderful landscape of rolling grassland, the last you will see before your departure. In Ulaanbaatar, you will be transferred to Dream Hotel where you’ll have your guide and a driver at your disposal until dinner. One of the many possibilities is to go for a last round of shopping to Naran Tuul black market, one of Asia’s biggest outdoor markets. STEP 15 - DEPARTURE : Breakfast at the hotel. Return transfer can take place at the desired time, depending on your flight time.
